Yesterday was International Cat Day, so there's a solid reason to make the 9th of August a DOG DAY!
In Dog Lover, you fetch cards, collect bones, and gather food for your lovable dogs. You rescue them from the shelter, teach them new tricks, and cherish their unique traits. The player who takes care of their beloved dogs best will score the most victory points and win!
In more detail: you start the game with a random dog card, which come in small, medium, and big sizes, as well as a random "special trick" card. Shuffle the game cards, then lay out the top nine cards in a 3x3 grid. Next to that, lay out three dog trick cards in an adjacent column and three rescued dogs in another column. The player farthest from the start player places the watch dog token next to one of the rows or columns, then the game is ready to play.
On a turn, choose one of your trick cards, rotating it as you desire, and collect cards from the 3x3 grid that match the pattern on the trick card, e.g. common polyomino shapes. You can take at most one card in the row or column under the protection of the watch dog. You can play and tuck cards both before and after you collect cards from the grid. What do you do with what you collect?

Food cards are exchanged for one of the four types of food.

Adoption cards go in your hand, and you can exchange two for a rescued dog, which comes with a special power or endgame bonus.

Favorite Things cards are dog toys that are more valuable when you collect them in sets.

Training cards can be tucked under a dog for bonus points, or you can exchange several of them to gain a new trick, which gives you more card- grabbing options each turn.

Walk cards are worth bonus points when tucked under a dog.

Bone cards give you a bonus for fed dogs if you collect enough of them.

Trait cards give an ongoing power and an endgame bonus, but you must attach it to a dog the turn you claim it; otherwise, you must usually discard multiple cards.
When the "End Game" card appears in the deck, you complete the round so that each player has the same number of turns, then you tally points. Each dog has a food requirement. If you meet that requirement, the dog and all its traits and tucked cards will be worth points. However, if you do not give the dog the right type and amount of food, you score -2 points for that dog and ignore all tucked cards that would otherwise give you points (Do not let your dogs go hungry!). The player who scores the most points is the ultimate dog lover!

Včeraj je bil mednarodni dan mačk, zato obstaja dober razlog, da 9. avgust postane PASJI DAN!
V igri Dog Lover prinašate karte, zbirate kosti in zbirate hrano za svoje ljubke pse.
Rešite jih iz zavetišča, jih naučite novih trikov in negujete njihove edinstvene lastnosti.
Igralec, ki najbolje skrbi za svoje ljubljene pse, bo dosegel največ zmagovalnih točk in zmagal!
Podrobneje: igro začnete z naključno karto psa, ki je na voljo v majhnih, srednjih in velikih velikostih, kot tudi z naključno karto "poseben trik".
Premešaj igralne karte, nato pa zgornjih devet kart razporedi v mrežo 3x3.
Poleg tega položite tri karte s pasjimi triki v sosednji stolpec in tri rešene pse v drugem stolpcu.
Igralec, ki je najbolj oddaljen od začetnega igralca, položi žeton psa čuvaja poleg ene od vrstic ali stolpcev, potem je igra pripravljena za igranje.
Na potezi izberite eno od svojih kart z zvijačami in jo zavrtite, kot želite, ter zberite karte iz mreže 3x3, ki se ujemajo z vzorcem na karti z zvijačami, npr.

Kaj počnete s tem, kar zberete?
- Pasje karte se takoj usedejo pred vas.

- Kartice s hrano se zamenjajo za eno od štirih vrst hrane.
- Posvojitvene kartice imate v rokah in dve lahko zamenjate za rešenega psa, ki ima posebno moč ali bonus za konec igre.
- Kartice Favorite Things so pasje igrače, ki so več vredne, če jih zbirate v kompletih.
- Kartice za usposabljanje lahko pospravite pod psa za dodatne točke ali pa jih zamenjate več, da pridobite nov trik, ki vam daje več možnosti grabljenja kart z vsakim korakom.
- Kartice za sprehajanje so vredne dodatnih točk, če jih potisnete pod psa.
- Kartice kosti vam dajo bonus za nahranjene pse, če jih zberete dovolj.
- Karte z lastnostmi dajejo stalno moč in bonus za končno igro, vendar jih morate pripeti psu, ko jih zahtevate; sicer morate običajno zavreči več kart.
Ko se v kompletu pojavi karta "End Game", zaključite krog, tako da ima vsak igralec enako število obratov, nato pa seštejete točke. Vsak pes ima svoje potrebe po hrani. Če izpolnjujete to zahtevo, bodo pes in vse njegove lastnosti ter vstavljene karte vredni točk. Če pa psu ne daste prave vrste in količine hrane, dobite -2 točki za tega psa in ignorirate vse vstavljene karte, ki bi vam sicer dale točke (Ne pustite, da vaši psi ostanejo lačni!). Igralec, ki doseže največ točk, je ultimativni ljubitelj psov!
