Yes, it would be good to have smaller cards graphics. I'm waiting for BGA to provide me with a sprite of minimal card graphics and I'll probably use that for gamelog cards.

Perhaps using a CSS scale transform would do the job in 1 line of CSS? But anyway, your game, your call. ;-)

It's already the case, there is a transform to reduce the card size but I fear that making them even smaller would make them unreadable if I don't change the image behind it too. It's already not so easy to see what card it is like that.

You don't need graphics in the game log, of any size. They make the game log impossible to read quickly. Just use the standard, for example Ac for ace of clubs, 4d for four of diamonds.
